Michael Maguire
My name is Mike Maguire. During my lifetime I have had the pleasure of protecting our country during WWII under the leadership of General Patton, marrying an amazing woman, Gloria, and being a father to 12 wonderful children. As our children grew, Gloria and I both wanted to give back to our community. We also wanted to make a difference in the health and wellness of our community. We knew and appreciated the excellent healthcare resource we had in our own back yard, so we became volunteers for Health First. Gloria volunteered for Hospice of Health First and I served on the Health First Board of Directors.
Having seen firsthand what a difference Health First makes in the health of Brevard County residents, we decided to show our support by giving a financial gift. We chose a charitable gift annuity to the Health First Foundation.
Later in life, Gloria suffered a stroke which left her unable to care for herself. I knew immediately where to turn for support—Hospice of Health First. They handled everything with the highest level of compassionate Hospice care, helping us both, all along the way until Gloria’s passing.
Today, I am enjoying life with my children and grandchildren. The annuity we took out continues to support something close to my heart, and the quarterly annuity payments that I receive are just icing on the cake.
